The type was originally set in Adobe’s Garamond Light, and printed with the Fractional Widths feature on the Preferences dialog box enabled. Looks pretty bad on the screen, but prints great. Try it on a Lino sometime.
Anyway, I converted the typeface over to New Century Schoolbook as I think it is more accessible to the majority of people, always a consideration when something is being uploaded. It is not as nice as Garamond for this piece, but the typeface is not extremely critical in this case.
The artwork was created on Adobe Illustrator. I think you can tell that I am no artist. At least I type pretty well. The artwork was printed through a 30% screen in the background, so it would destroy the readability of the type yet still suggest the clover/fun theme of the invitation. The type and thick rule along the bottom were all printed at 100%. This was a one-color piece, the color being PMS 361, which is a very fancy way to say green.
When presenting the comp to the client, I set all the lines in the artwork to 20%, and used a Letraset/Pantone marker to "green in" the artwork. This was hardly precise, but it gave the client a good idea of how things would look.
Finally, I used RSG 4.0's "Don't Print" feature to create "seperated art." Sounds easy, eh?
If anybody has any desire to use the EPS artwork (I don't see why!), please contact me first. While I would be more than happy to let you use the work, I do have a client to protect, and therefore must insist on being advised of any usage of the artwork.
